Josef Kote - Biography In 1988 Josef Kote graduated fom university with a masters degree in visual arts. By that time, he had already established himself as an artist with a promising talent. Over the last 20 years, since he graduated from university, Josef Kote has explored many disciplines in search for a voice of his own. Today as an accomplished artist living in Toronto his search continues in the intricate uniqueness of the urban and rural landscapes. Whether he paints rural or urban sceneries, portraits or still life, with his composition, Josef Kote challenges the viewer with a distinctive and compeling interpretration of the subjects he captures on canvas. Armed with numerous awards, exhibits, and commissions, both by private and public institutions, Josef Kote is now recognized as a free and spontaneous expressionist , a discerning interpreter of landscape's harmonies.
